Helio Therapy

Heliotherapy, often referred to as "Surya Chikitsa" in Naturopathy, is a therapeutic technique that utilizes the sun's healing power and is carried out in several Wellness retreats at Prayagraj. It is thought to enhance general wellbeing and balance the body's doshas—Pitta, Kapha, and Vata. Sun exposure at certain times of the day, such as sunrise or sunset, is part of Naturopathy heliotherapy, which is intended to absorb vital energy and stimulate the body's natural healing processes. As a source of prana, or life force energy, the sun's rays are said to strengthen immunity, promote better digestion, and improve mental clarity. This age-old method supports holistic wellness according to Ayurvedic principles and is used to manage a range of health issues.

Sunlight is the main source of energy. About a century ago, sunlight was the standard treatment for diseases like tuberculosis before antibiotics were discovered. The sun is the best source of vitamin D. Since few foods contain vitamin D, experts recommend exposing the body to sunshine for at least 20 minutes each day, preferably before 9 AM and 4.30 PM (avoid mid-day UVA radiation). Vitamin D is not only essential for strong teeth and bones but also helps the body absorb calcium.
